There were no set demands or set scientific standards that must be followed to be good parents. In fact there was none of this science of home parenting. Under the circumstances society had been moving beautifully and each generation followed another in the beautiful rhythm of the moving cultures.

Home Parenting as a Science

This science of home parenting however has descended heavily on parents and is throwing them off balance in an effort to readjust to the dislocations brought about by this stupid science. In the old days, there was never any necessity for determining who should go to earn for the family and who should stay at home or whether both husbands and wives should earn for the family. Still we see that children grow up to be like their parents and know exactly how to start and care for the family. Society didn't care two hoots about how a family is run as long as parents don't massacre their children unnecessarily. Simply put; the father earns for the family in whatever ways he knows best and the mother attends to the home and children. It was as simple as that.

Home Parenting Dilemma

Now an unnecessary dilemma has been brought about on whether both parents should work or not. Questions have started to be asked if it makes any sense for both parents to work while raising young children. In an effort to find an answer, two inconclusive opinions have been put forward. One stresses that the costs of supporting and raising a family necessitates both parents should work while the other contends that emotional and stress-related problems are so high that it is better for one parent to stay home.

Expenditure

To determine the right opinion, parents go into unnecessary accounting of their incomes and expenditures. Initially the earnings seem to far outweigh the costs should both parents work but unfortunately on a second count, it is not viable for both parents to work. They are back to square one again. And what is worse, there are so many other problems to be overcome that renders both parents working unviable. The tragedy is, so long as parents are engrossed in this mind boggling topic, they will forever be caught in this vicious roller coaster that wastes a lot of time and energy yet leading to nowhere.
